Student Ministry

Overview

This ministry was established in April 19th, 1992. The mandate was to promote the work of the Great Commission among students in both Secondary and Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria. The Christian Education Department prayerfully took off the ministry with the vision of Discipleship and Evangelism in the campuses. Those who pioneered the ministry under the supervision of Miss Lesley Pelt were:

  1. Ezekiel Ojimadu – President (Medical student from University of Jos).
  2. Kidmas Ali Tanko – Vice President (Medical Student University of Jos).
  3. Musa Dankyau – General Secretary (Medical Student University of Jos).
  4. Nelson Peter – Assistant Secretary (Religious Student University of Jos).
  5. Adams Maina – Fellowship Secretary (Architectural Student University of Jos).
  6. Chris Hayab – Financial Secretary (Pharmacist Student University of Jos).
  7. Kelechi Okereke – Public Related Officer (English Student University of Jos).

To the glory of God, the ministry has spread from Jos Zone to eight zones. ECWA Student Ministry can today talk of 100 chapters across the country. These include Secondary Schools, Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, Schools of Agriculture, Schools of Nursing, and etcetera.
